Whoa! Nice set cowboy,

Please read the rules of this forum, you would need 250 post in order to sell, but if you're in a hurry I would sell it @ greatcollection.com. Other may prefer ebay or other venue.

Send it in to ANACS and keep it.

You wont get enough to start a business that you could not get from a small business loan. As mentioned, sell the other stuff first.

and sorry to hear about your loss.

What an amazing set!

with the above... Sell the over stuff and keep the rarities... Quality over quantity. This is an amazing set, not easily replaced and that will appreciate in value.. This was most definitely one of your gramps prized items (out of his coins), kinda neat to keep even if coins arn't your thing.. It'd be like selling his prized corvette. He was smart enough to feel this set would appreciate in value and be quite sought after... Smart man.

Just to be able to tell your grandkids that this set was one of your grandfathers favorite possessions.. That would trump the money for me, and in reality how far is $5000 really gonna go into starting your business? Worth selling something that meant alot to him? But to each his own, totally your choice.

I don't got the money to buy it..

Anyway, you need 250 post to sell on CCF.
But if you list it on ebay you can post the link here on CCF I believe

ebay charges 15% to sell. This includes paypal.

I wish I had the $ too , well if you had the the posts that is... Stick around and post away.. Maybe by the time your done you won't want to part with it, lol.. Might catch the collecting bug. And I for one would love to see what else he had in his collection. And it'll give me time to save up

But anyways, I wanted to apologize, re-reading my prior post it sounded kinda bossy and opinionated.. It's your set and you shouldn't feel any pressure from anyone regarding what you should do with it.

I guess it's just a bit hard from a collectors point of view.. My original collection was also my gramps before me... He got me into collecting in the first place... And while not a "cheap" collection in the least your gramps one set almost out values it. And even money aside its an extremely sought after set, not enough to go around. And most of us (collectors) would give a right leg to inherit this, so it's "difficult" to see someone eager (for lack of a better word) to sell it. But obviously being collectors we view it differently than yourself. So again, I'm not sure if that totally makes sense but I wanted to apologize as I realize that being a collector my opinion may be... Swayed.. So sell away and I wish you the best with your business!

No Harm done. I will be keeping all the circulated 90% silver he had because it could hold its value if the dollar ever collapses. I was wondering how the 15% ebay and Paypal estimate was derived? I looked into it because a ungraded set recently sold for $7,250. I went to the ebay calculator using a 7 day auction starting price as $7250. ebay calculated that the most it would take is $250. It said no matter how high the selling price, they would only take $250. And paypal takes 2.9%. Which is about $218. That plus the eBays $250 is $468 total fees. Where is my calculation wrong please? :)

Paypal is 5%

So 7250 = 362 + 250 = 602.
Now shipping is like 40 dollars.
You should do one day delivery.

PayPal is 30 cents plus 2.9% of the final selling price and 2.9% of what is charged for shipping.
