Maybe palPal lowered its fee at some point solotime? Thanks for clarification all. I just wanted to make sure I wasnt missing something, so I can price it accordingly.

Just wonder if the guy at the brick and mortar coin shop is offering $5,500 for it and he is looking to sell it then he has to price it at point to make it worth his time and effort since that is a bit of cash to be locked up in a set, so he must have feeling he can indeed sell the set again.

ebay might give realize you more money but it can be minefield since I have read stories on CCF about problems folks had selling coins.

There is another avenue that you could consider and it costs only an email with no commitment to start the process.

http://www.coincommunity.com/coin_consignment/ - lists all of the details. So you might want to consider reading out to forum Mom and Dad about selling the coin set for you.

Sound like the dealer is doing the usually 70-80% I gotta make a living excuse. To many episodes of pawn stars.... I would keep it otherwise if not I would decide what I would want for it because thats the true value anyway. Then grab the phone and find awesome reputable fair dealers and go from there.. The amount of guys here who want it is just a small idea of how exciting and hard to find this set is. Sorry for your grampa and welcome to the awesome forum!
