Very nice photos ... MS in my judgment unless you write back with luster breaks somewhere on the high points.

My specific opinion is MS63 ... the field and portrait hits conspire to make it so.

Lovely coin indeed.

jsyk ... I am going to ask the mod dudes to move this thread to the commemorative sub-forum ... there you will find the true experts to help.

I will, but only with the greatest of reluctance.

What a beautiful coin.

Edit: OK, fine. While I was typing, somebody else was moving.

Although, the Commemorative section doesn't really have a grading section, I moved your thread here to get an audience of Commemorative experts.

Thanks guys. I really like this coin. It looks better in hand as well (I am still working on my photo skills - I need better lighting).

IMO, an easy MS-63. (I could see this in an MS-64 slab, though).

Nice Lincoln! (Illinois Statehood Centennial, actually. )

I would agree with those suggesting MS-63 (but a grade of MS-64 wouldn't surprise me). I believe the marks in the fields of the obverse and reverse remove it from full gem status.

Is it the lighting used for your images that is creating the golden tone at the top of each side of the coin? The golden tint makes it a little tough to grade - at least using my eyes!
