Quote: (A) the obverse of the quarter dollar shall revert to the same design containing an image of President Washington in effect for the quarter dollar before the institution of the 50-State quarter dollar program sorry Washington, but that portrait is getting very old and boring. I dont know why, but the Lincoln portraits been around longer but I don't find it as boring as the Washington portrait. I'm fine with keeping Wash. , but redesign it. Kind of like what they did with the Jefferson nickel. That is what needs to be done with Washington.

I think the new Jefferson nickel portrait is just awful. It's an ugly looking coin.

No, the law basically calls for the old George on the obv and crossing the Delaware on the rev.

Quote: No, the law basically calls for the old George on the obv and crossing the Delaware on the rev. key word: old. We need a NEW obverse for Washington. In my opinion, reverses of coins get changed too often (ESPESCIALLY quarters), and obverses not enough. It's really time for a new portrait.

Quote: so it will have an eagle AND Washington crossing the Delaware? No, when they when they say with respect to (specified section of the law) not withstanding, it means that that section of the law is to be ignored. In this case it is saying that the requirement that an eagle must appear on the reverse is to be ignored.

The quarter should go into a single regular design. Please no more multiple designs!

It's a little early for info about the next design considering it won't be here before 2022 at the earliest and if they decide to go for a second round (Option built into the law) we may not see it until 2034.

True... a second round of ATB, you mean? Quote: The quarter should go into a single regular design. Please no more multiple designs!

Yes, in year eight of the ATB program the Secretary of the Treasury has the option of ordering a second round of ATB Quarters. That adds another eleven years to the program.
