Picked up my first box of half dollars to search for silver (and other rares), didn't even find one. Near the end I found this half dollar with a bubble in it, both sides. It extends from the "L" in "LIBERTY" to the edge of the mouth on the heads side and from "UNIT" in "UNITED" to the mouth of the eagle on the tails side.

Discussion on what this is and value would be greatly appreciated (actually any info would be super). Thanks in advance!

Edit: It bubbles outwards on both sides.

The coin was in a fire. The heat makes the layers of the clad develop a bubble inside the planchet. It is was not struck that way. PSD
