Unfortunately, this is not a mint error. It is Post-Strike Damage ( PSD), and will not command any premium. It looks like a Dryer Coin in my opinion.

Oh, and I can't forget!

It's a Dryer Coin.

Only worth face value.

Looks like a prison ring.you beat a nickel with the inside of a spoon then file out the middle.

If they had a file in prison wouldn't they better spend time filing on the bars of the cell with it?

Well, assuming the door was one that had bars (and was not a solid metal door with a window) it would be made of material far stronger than nickel and copper. :) I'd be more worried about them using a file to make a shiv out of a nickel. :0

I'm very aware of the different kinds of prison. But even in county lock-up and municipal holding facilities, the bars (if they have them instead of solid metal doors) are solid steel or some sort of tempered metal that would likely resist a small file. And anyway, that's why inspections are done of cells. But yes, some prison facilities have something akin to a workshop and they may tool a nickel for whatever reason in there. I think this one is just a Dryer Coin that someone then tried to flatten out so he or she could spend it or get it to go into a roll more easily and discreetly.

Usually takes about 15 or more posts before the original post gets lost. Thos one went from an error coin to jail construction fast.
I would like to see the reverse of that one.
The coin, not the prison.
