I cracked the Proof Kennedy out of the stinking case. I tried to shoot pics of the coin in plastic, but results were bizarre.

Hopefully these look a bit better.

Looks like ejection doubling. Hard to tell for sure from the pix. What year is it?

Looks like "flyspeck" Mechanical Doubling to me.

IDK, from what I've seen of other DDO coins, I'd say it looks DDO to me but it's border line. It could be Die Deterioration too.

Better Pics? This is a deep cameo 1998 Kennedy half with an almost black surface. Lighting is almost on top of the coin. Its either what you get as shown or way too bright. I agree, its borderline. In some areas like Liberty, I have two "L's" Two "I's" and the rest of it looks like ejection doubling. Its 50/50 looking. I'll spend the 17 bucks to get it graded later on and let the "experts" at ANACS pull their hair out on this one..... = )

Thank You all for your inputs, they are much appreciated.

Other post about same coin....

I agree with kloccwork419 that it is Machine Doubling (ejection doubling). When you enlarge images with too high of magnification, it make nothing look like something. The biggest clue is that devices are not widened like hub doubling would create. The devices are just normal sized with the ejection marks.
