Please see attached 3 pictures. It looks like the 2012 and several of the letters around the rim are doubled - or something. There is also a "ring" or "halo" of some kind of lines running around the coin - basically just inside of the Liberty and 2012. Let me know what you think. I made a magnifying glass to use with my iphone.

edge looks normal. Weight and size appears normal, but have not weighed. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

It's not a doubled die.

Appears to have been struck from a die that's about worn out its usefulness.
The apparent doubling is caused by the worn die.

So is the "halo".
The halo is caused by lines resulting from planchet metal flow that has "etched" the die.

Thanks for the ID.

52 - Thanks for the tip on the modification.

Is this worth keeping or selling? I am guessing that this is relatively rare since there were less than 2 million total minted. I guess I am correct in saying that this is NOT an error then?

The outside edges of the devices on LIBERTY are suffering from Machine Doubling. The rest the guys have correct. Just old age showing it's wrinkles.

What does the reverse look like? The 10:00 to 2:00 look thinner on the obverse rim. How about the reverse at 4:00 to 8:00?

Coop - The reverse looks perfectly normal to me. I compared to other halves.
