WOODY! NICE! Too bad someone didn't address that spot of verdigris before getting it slabbed.
F12 - VG on an NGC grumpy day.

NGC graded it VG10 which seems conservative. I'll have it in-hand later this week and will post more pics. When I first saw the coin I thought the reverse looked like a strong Fine and close to VF. The obverse did look closer to VG10 but the wood grain makes it tough to tell. I will examine the spot of verdigris closely and will crack it out if it looks worse than the pics. This is a sub-$100 piece that is worth conserving as a beautiful key date, the slab is not as important as the coin.

It doesn't look like it has enough details for Fine. When saw it, I knew it was from VG to F. But after looking over it, I guessed VG because lack of hair. But, nice coin!

VG10 is a fair grade, maybe a bit conservative, but reasonable. I bump it to F because it's so nice in terms of hits. That's a clean coin!
