I will be needing some different BU Lincoln for a dansco album. So what do you say is the best way to get them?
1959 to 2013. (I got like 70% BU)

I can try roll searching but that may be boring.
Should I try ebay and buy mint cello's or but them from where?

You may want to try the want list here on CCF with specific dates. I bet one of our members will be able to help you out.

When I started my Dansco 8100 I spent a grand total of $14.95 on a set of BU memorials. It included all the 82's and the four LD/SD 1960. They also included all the 2009s as well. I kind of feel guilty for just buying a set like that and not searching them out but I wanted to get a jump start on the thing and start focusing right away on the wheats in BU. It was quick, it was dirty, but it was good. :)

For BUs, I bought mine from my LCS. I had no issue with buying them, since I wanted to make sure they were truly BU and whatnot. Now I am upgrading my wheats to BU. Got about 65% of them done, but it's gonna cost some cash to do them all. :)

Not sure if you can find a decent coin show but at many of the omes I go to I see complete sets from 59 to present in UNC grades for sale. You can either get the complete sets or buy one at a time. Coin shows and coin stores are full of them.

But buying the whole set is like cheating.

I can't really list what I need yet because the albums aren't here yet. My IKE one should come today.
Or tomorrow.

Taking the pictures aren't a problem, but the lack of sunlight is. Haven't been having sunny days here.

I actually think there was a member wanting to get rid of some a little while back. I can't remember who, but I am pretty positive it was in a thread.

I am going to start a Lincoln Shield cent collection and have also been wondering the best way to go about getting them.

I don't think it's boring that will probably be the best way of completing it (Excluding buying them).

I get most of mine off ebay. Looking past all the junk on ebay can be just as fun as roll searching lol

I would go LCS and cherry pick the ones you like the most. Good luck!

I completed 90% of my entire Lincoln Cent 1909-present) collection from circulation or roll searching. I only am missing 3 "real" coins (09S-VDB, 14D, 31S) and the famous error coins (22 No D and 55DD) that are considered primary items for the set. I only purchased a couple coins, all but 4 or 5 were to replace lesser condition coins. For example, I found an 09-VDB roll searching once and another in change but both were pretty rough so I bought a better coin and 2x2'd the others. The latest coins I *had* to buy other than the 43 Steel cents (although I did later find a "D" and a "P" roll searching) were from the mid 30's.

With Lincoln Memorial Cents and Jefferson nickles you can pretty much find most of the dates with diligent searching from circulation although if you want a BU collection you are going to have to buy. LCS and shows are your best bet but make sure you know the relative values of the coins you are looking for and don't be afraid to haggle for the more pricey ones. Don't chew a guy down for a 50 cent coin, but if he has one for $100 offer less!

I have quite a few still in mint cello. When you get a list, let me know.

And yes, getting them in the cello is the best way to get them IMO.

Great amount for ideas!

But I still don't got the album yet.
I did get my Ike dollar one and almost completed it
It's hard to get the coins inside though...

I am going to buy some of the ikes I need on ebay. It's not cheap to complete the set with the missing ones I need.
