Some of those type you can't change the batteries and even when ya can it costs a lot more then normal batteries. I use a monocular from The Sharper Image that works extremely well for a small device that is easily portable. It doesn't have a light but it's good for close ups or use outside like binoculars. In the section called Optics on page 40, 41, etc. there is a large variety of magnification items with and/or without lights. Some have 1 light, some 2 lights, head mounted, with stands, pocket types, large and small ones. If you can find one of their stores the aisles on optics are loaded with every type made on Earth or so it appears. Every time I go there I get lost in a maze of things I want.
