A guy at work asked me about these all 1929 #1 First National Bank of Ely Nevada # 8561 $5.00 note sn# E001361A #2 Farmers and Merchants Bank of Eureka Nevada #11784 $5.00 note sn# E000109A #3 First National Bank of Ely Nevada #8561 $10 note sn# A000665A #4 The McGill National Bank McGill Nevada #9452 $10 note sn #A000708A all notes are in fine but circulated condition and was wondering what a rough idea would be of there value. The guy apparently inherited these

8561- FNB of Ely $5 note----$5000.00
11784-F&M of Eureka $5 note--$6000.00
8561-FNB of Ely $10 note---$5000.00
9452-McGill NB $10 note--$6000.00

Prices are for Type 1 notes.

Thanks greatly mfhorn he is going to fall out of his chair when I tell him this. He initially thought they were worth $100 total and some guy at a gold and coin outfit offered him $200 each before he asked me

Uh yeah, tell your friend to hold up before he sells them. There was collector on the east coast that cornered the market for Nevada nationals in the last ten years or so, which is part of the reason why these are selling for moon money. My personal recommendation if he's in the market to sell: consign these to an auction house like Heritage or Lyn Knight. They'll get all the exposure for these with their wide bandwidth of advertising.

And if wasn't for the fact that they sell for many thousands of dollars, I would be in the market for a few. Just a little out of my price range ;)

I just took a look at what he had in Nevada Nationals; only 2 of the more common Type 2 Reno $5 notes.

click on paper money for sale...........national bank notes..........then go to your state.
