Ex-jewelry piece that I freed. I think this one would get XF details due to the scratch on the obverse. What would you give it?

I think its slightly lower than XF. Definitely details - scratched. Probably just the lighting but the color is not that of a gold coin.

The color could just be due to lighting.
If worried, weigh it accurately and measure it with a micrometer screw gauge for diameter and thickness.

Might make XF Detail and remember this Civil War date has significant numismatic value even with problems. The low survival rate and 1861 date put this piece far above melt value.

It's gold. Weighs ~16.7g and 27mm wide. I took quick photos under a fluorescent light.

You did an excellent job freeing it from the jewelry...no marks at all from it what I can see?

I also agree with EF40 details.
This coin shows the typical type of wear for an ex jewelry piece. Fortunately, this coin has been rescued
