I'm not sure exactly what this is. And am certainly no expert when it comes to Error coins. But I have not seen something like this before. I have seen Double Dies, Clips and the like. However not this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As an aside, Very excited to go to FUN Orlando in January!

It is PDS. (Post Strike Damaged) There is no way in the striking process that this happened during the strike. The collar would have kept it round, the rim would not have been flattened. Some one did this during circulation.

Thank you! Yeah I was not sure. I kind of had a feeling it was a Post Strike. It is just interesting how indented it was! Someone must have really hit is hard.

When there is a crude indent like that, with a corresponding imperfection on the opposite face, it is almost always some sort of post-strike damage. Another good indicator is the expansion of the coin to a diameter that is larger than normal. In this case, the field design was expanded outward which doesn't happen in any manner which one would classify as a mint error.
