Tim. Both of mine came today also and they look beautiful, I do not think they will be the premium the 2006 were but I collect coins don't sell them so I can live with that.

I guess I really haven't been paying attention. Every year I buy an ASE from my coin dealer to keep my Dansco Album caught up, and I also buy a proof ASE from the mint. I didn't think the mint sold any ASE's to us average customers other than proof ASE's. I have my 2007 coin from my coin dealer. Can someone explain to me the difference between my 2007 coin, which I think I paid about $17 for, and one I can order from the mint? Thanks.

The one you get from the dealer is Bullion and the one from the Mint is on a burnished Blank. Here is the description from the Mint's website:
American Eagle Silver Uncirculated Coins are struck on specially burnished blanks. This coin offers silver precious metal purchasers a new collectible version of the popular American Eagle Silver Bullion Coin and features a finish similar to its bullion coin counterpart. Each coin also bears the "W" mint mark reflecting its striking at the United States Mint at West Point.
Hope that helps....

So I guess, If you want a complete set...you will have to start buying 3 different ASE's a year.

Tim. I guess you could say four sets because I don't think they started the burnished die until last year 2006. That is the only reason I ordered it last year I have a complete set of silver eagles but they are all bullion coins I have picked up from dealers. I could be wrong last year was the first year for the burnished die right?

Thanks a lot for the information. If the mint just started the burnished coins last year, I guess that's why I missed it.
Again, thanks.

No need to answer, but why couldn't the Mint just have stopped last year with this? It ticks me of and I don't feel like buying anything. One year would be better for most of this stuff.

After reading this thread, I decided I just had to have one of these coins, so just placed my order with the mint on-line.
Hope I don't have to wait too long.
