Several years ago, there was an e-Bay seller, from Quebec, who was stamping Centennial bills with a gold maple leaf, and also placing fly loons on the last issue of the $1.00 bills, and touting them to be special issues. The seller also sold cut-up sheets as mint errors. The seller seemed to be selling a lot of these notes at inflated prices, to unsuspecting buyers, after a while it seems that this seller was drummed out of ebay for their selling practices. http://www.ebay.com/itm/CANADA-ONE-...em4179551883I would suspect that the seller is back with a new ebay id, and is selling Canadian notes that have been modified, either cutting up full sheets of bills or placing a sticker on a bill and calling it a flying loon. Seems the seller gets by on the auction listings my saying they come a "geant estate from his grandfather" Drives me crazy that collectors are being duped into buying these altered bills, at hugely inflated prices. I tried to list a information auction on ebay telling people not to bid on auctions such as this, and telling them exactly how the bills were doctored, but the auction got bounced from ebay as I apparently violated counterfeit rules. Seems you can list doctored bills, but cannot tell others not to buy them as they are doctored bills. My rant for a Sunny Sunday afternoon.

I don't even think this is legal, since it's from a "private company".

I think from an ebay standpoint, as long as you don't admit to doctoring the material, you are OK selling this stuff as it is not "quite" a counterfeit. But if you tell a user "how" to doctor the note, you are breaking their rules.

Tell me about it. I want to see him gone but reporting him doesn't help and ebay doesn't even care...

Wow... pretty crappy. On the other hand, I want to get in on this stickin' action! Quick, hand me that glittery sheet from the dollar store. "X-RARE HOLOGRAPHIC AUGMENTED BILL - PRIVATE ISSUE - ONLY ONE KNOWN - +++MUST BUY+++"

Browsing through those paper money listings... the seller is using an image STOLEN from a completely unrelated website! Oops! Was this the same dope who left the mouse cursor on the computer monitor they were photographing?

This is a rare Flying Loon note, with the Canadian Goose sticker error.

Forgive my ignorance, but in Canada you can get sheets of notes and then cut them yourself?

Not all after-mint modifications to Canadian currency lower its value. Canadian silver dollars stamped in the 1930's through 1950's with initials JOP have proven to be quite valuable collectible. JOP was jeweler Joseph Olivia Patenaude from Nelson, BC.

Some sheets of $1 and $2 notes were made available when the denominations were discontinued.
I think it is also possible to find sheets of other denominations, but I am not exactly certain.

Sheets have been made available for the $1 through the $10 issues, when they wee replaced by newer issues. The dollar and $2 sheets are common while the $5 and the $10 are tougher to find.

Make your own errors with scissors then. Somebody paid $46 for that one.
