I wanted to take a picture of the coin but my cellphone camera can't take one that isn't blurry. Sorry.

I have two of these, 1961 Canadian Dimes with the second "1" near the beading appearing not as a straight line like the first 1 in the date but as a "1" minus the bottom line and inverted.

Does anyone know anything about similar coins with this mistake? I find it hard to believe I could be the only person to own the only two of these in existence. I have searched everywhere to find out info on these coins and even local collectors are baffled.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

There are a few versions of this....it is caused by a die flaw. They are referenced in the Zoell catalogues.

Also, there is another string somewhere on this site that refers to them.

I know that one sold on ebay not that long ago in a decent uncertified AU/MS grade for about $50. There were also a couple listed for sale by an optimistic seller north of $500 in CCCS hard holders.

I managed to take a photo, though not very good. I thought it must be a die cut or mistake, but I didn't expect it to sell so high. Thank you both for the information.
