I have been looking for a silver dollar or two on CCF sales... seems alot of sellers wont send to the UK? anyone know why this is...I know that you have to fill out a 'small' customs form, but surely if the buyer pays the postage charges this shouldn't matter? The French sellers on ebay do not send to the UK very often, but lets just say...aherm...we have history. I know that we (Uk and US) have a lot of sea water between us, but aren't we allies ? Unless there are other postage constraints when sending FROM the US to Europe that do not exist here....Of course its down to the seller, I know that, just intrigued. *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

Much of that probably has to do with packages being lost, and being unable to track them once they hit the border of the US. The customs form isn't a big deal (to me, anyway), but being unable to track the package keeps me from shipping to many countries.

I was under the impression that packages can be tracked from start to finish....certainly when I send packaged tracked, they are logged at every waypoint. If your mail does not do this, then I can understand the reason for not sending abroad, nothing worse than losing coins! been there. thanks.

It's all about tracking. In truth, I'm incompletely aware of whether or not tracking is affordably possible (if at all) between the US and UK in either direction, but knowing my own Postal Service I'm not confident. And the key here is affordable.
I myself quit selling Internationally years ago for that reason.

Ok, I now understand. I still send numerous coins to the US, and never lose any, but maybe our tracking service is better? Hopefully someone will still sell me a silver dollar or two.

So you brits still deep down think you own us and now you want our silver too? Probably the best value is this: https://www.usps.com/ship/priority-...ational.htm, Priority Mail International Quote: Features •Delivery in 6 to 10 business days* •Reliable and affordable •Includes tracking information with our Track & Confirm tool** •May qualify for Free Package Pickup*** at your door For which, Priority Mail International® Small Flat Rate Box is probably best, allows a Maximum Value for Contents of US$400.00 and is 8-5/8" x 5-3/8" x 1-5/8" with a maximum weight of 4 pounds.

ok, thanks, I realise it can be a personal thing with some dealers who would just rather stick to the US as well. You have a large customer base there! We on the other hand are much smaller and we like to sell to the American market when we can. I'd rather post to the US than to Eastern Europe any day!! Stuff, disappears on its way there........

YeOlde, I've attained my Silver $s through trade. You an also find them on ebay.com occasionally and I've seen them go for close to melt (but only occasionally - its usually £15-25 for what I've seen). And I've sent tracked from UK to US - every single poitn was tracked between both countries. But I hear thats not possible to do from USoA to the UK.

Excuse my ignorance but where did the very first Native Americans come from? Surely they have as good if not better claim than anyone?
