I have been practicing a few pictures (without much success) and figured I would post this one up for grading. I know that the pictures aren't great, but what are your thoughts?

I agree I would say VF-35 to XF-40

I'd give it a 40. For what it may be worth ... Half Dimes are very difficult to photograph. It depends upon the camera I'm sure, but some cameras, even in macro mode, just won't allow you to get close enough. I have an 1829 that I need to takea couple shots of since getting a new camera, but my old Kodak Easy Share ... wasn't "gettin' it". I just couldn't get close enough. Chance

VF-30. Half Cents are pretty tiny, don't stress over pics!

I have it as an XF-40 in my notes, so I guess I am not far off. The obverse is a little weaker than the reverse in my opinion. Thanks for the comments, it is one of my favorite coins.

I don't see how it's not an EF40

EF40 here also. Those pics are not bad at all, if you could take it out of the flip before shooting they would probably be much better.

Definitely a strong 40+ all day long.
