I recently aquired this 1983 D dime that looks like the three in the date is doubled. Also on the reverse, E Pluribus Unum looks really thick. Was just wondering what caused it. Thanks for your time.

Looks like contact mark or coin wrapper damage on the date. The 8 shows this as well.

Reverse: ?

Coop is the expert on this, I'm sure.

But I think I see what you see and I would have said that the 3 looked like MD because it is flat --- but the it also looks like the 3 took a hit so that would make me question it.

Do you have photos of both sides of the whole coin?
