The coin is nice, but something does look off a bit. Almost like the hair detail was professionally re-engraved....though I am probably wrong there. Anyhow, nice coin.

I'm comfortable with it. The dies are old - note the drawing of the stars - but the obverse master was redesigned for 1834 to offer more head detail. Therefore, I'd expect a well-struck example to show high levels of hair detail by comparison to previous issues.
