I just found this 1949 Wheat penny in my piggy bank (had it since I was 8... I'm 22 now.. finally going through it lol)

I've never seen anything like this before. It is very noticeable and you don't need a magnifying glass to see it.

Is the Wheat penny worth anything? I've never seen anything like that before.

It is now a damaged coin. It is still a Wheat cent and worth more than melt. A better BU replacement and be bought for just a few dollars.

Oh ok thanks. Why is it now a damaged coin? I'm new to this whole coin thing. Sorry for the questions.

It was hammer with something. You can see it pushing out the reverse.
