would this be considered a trimming error or is this in the margin of normalcy? Somewhat experienced coin hunter just getting into paper money. Opinions are valued. Thanks.

Not enough to be considered a trimming error, just a tight margin. Typically, trimming errors need to show part of another note on the larger margin side or is cut into the design on the tight margin side.

Thanks Bison. I didn't think it was. its similar to a very slightly mis-aligned die then in coin terms. Appreciate the info and education.
