When I first learned the BEP has a new piece of equipment for the 3rd printing (LEPE), and had placed it in operation, printing the Seals & Serial Numbers on some of the series 2009 (fw) $1.00 FRN's along side the COPE overprinting, and printing the serial numbers at different plate number locations, I became intrigued and spent many a hour studying the site below.

â-ºwebsiteâ—„ http://www.uspapermoney.info/general/lepe.html

For years I have believed that if you viewed a serial number of a note in hand, there must be a way to chart other 31 serial numbers from the same sheet...

This site not only taught me how to calculate the other serial numbers in 200,000 Sheet Runs, I have also found the assigned plate numbers for both 100,000 & 150,000 Sheet Runs...

My primary interest is on error notes and locating the other (assigned) serial numbers from the same sheet... I will be posting a few threads showing 3rd print on reverse errors, along with a 32 subject, 4 quadrant chart (same as a 32 subject sheet of uncut currency) that I feel 99.9% confident the assigned serial numbers are correct...

While others may find this confusing, I combined both charts from the above website below into a single chart, as this makes it easier for me to see what equipment was used when checking the serial numbers against the plate location.

I also found some "switched" notes where the right half of a 16 subject sheet (quadrants 3 & 4) was placed on the left side (quadrants 1 & 2) and printed with the serial number in the wrong quadrant.

This can only be done when COPE trims the 32 subject sheet into Two 16 subject sheets before printing the serials.

Thanks for sharing.

That clearly took a lot of work.

I have to say, this stuff fascinates me -- not entirely sure why -- but at the same time, it gives me a headache.
