To start, here is a link for parts one and two... https://goccf.com/t/159338So a couple days ago, I spoke to the manager at this 7-11. He knows me on sight I am in there so much. He is ringing me up and I look in the drawer as always. I said, darn, no dollars today. He asked if I wanted any. I said not really the gold dollars, but 50 cent pieces or big dollars, sure. His response? I have a bunch of half dollars in my safe. I can open it, but it will take 10 minutes. I did not have the time, but promised I would be back the next morning. Long story short, it took a couple tries, but I finally was able to get them. I walked in, he saw me, smiles and grabs a bag and holds it up. I hear that special tink and think here we go! LOL He hands me the bag to count them out and I remove 26 coins, 13.00 face value. One 84 Kennedy, and *drumroll* TWENTY FIVE Walking Liberty halves! He explained it to me. Another regular customer came in a few weeks ago. Needed smokes, had no money. Gave him like 30 bucks in Walkers and asked him to hold them, treating the 7-11 as a pawn shop of sorts. The manager was nice enough to do so. A week later he comes back in says I dont have the money to get them back. Then he comes back the next day and is able to get 20 bucks back but that was it, he could not get any more back. So now, a couple weeks later, here they are. Wow, Don! What a fantastic haul. It just goes to show how far addicts will go to please themselves before they die. Very sad for them but a blessing for the rest of us. As you know it's great to be buddies with certain shopkeepers, as one never knows what will walk in the store on any day. Congrats again on the find.

Wow ... tremendous story and one of great support from your local merchants.
Well done to you for nurturing that honest relationship.
Gotta enjoy all that face-value silver in one photo.

Hook the 7-11 up? I spend a large portion of my pay in that store. I hook them up all the time.
The date range is 41-46. I have not gone over them in detail yet, but nothing I saw at first glance.

Wow.
Great Score.
And the owner sounds like a great guy for 1. being willing to hold onto the coins so the guy could come back and get them back at a later date and 2. hooking you up with whatever else he finds.

what I mean by hook up, is going to the store and getting the store owner or manager who is holding these coins for you a gift card, or some boxes of chocolates, etc.
That would be like you getting these from one of the bank teller ladies and saying that by you doing business at the bank, your hooking them up.....

Does the manager not know what they have? You can easily take those into most coin shops and pawn shops and sell them for $8-10 a pop. No way am I giving a customer $200 free cash when I could just buy them myself and make the $200 for me. I hope you tip that manager well because man I am at a loss why he never buys this stuff himself.

And I don't get your comment of how you are hooking the manager up by spending a lot of your paycheck there, if he is just a manager he is not going to see one cent of that, do you think 7-11 is giving him a bonus for sales or something? If he was the owner maybe that might be a legitimate argument but not as a manager he is not seeing any of that money your are spending.
He just gave you a free $200 the least you could do is get him a gift card to starbucks or barnes and noble or target. I mean show some gratitude he clearly did not have to hand you your windfall and I am still at a loss why he did it I would buy those for myself out of the till in a heartbeat not just give them to a customer.
