I just can't get past how you think your doing him a favor by making a $200 profit off him because he's not aware of what he has. You keep acting like man your so lucky I came along and you don't have to deal with all that silver at face value the horror. I agree next time you see him let him know what there worth and see if he thinks you did him a favor and if he continues a to hook you up.

I'm not against you taking advantage of a good situation I would do the same thing given the chance it's your attitude that bothers me. I am doing him a favor by taking advantage of his ignorance ain't I such a nice guy he should be so grateful I am willing to make such a profit off him.

The guy would have been a lot better off selling the halves to a coin shop. He lost like all his Walking Liberty half dollars.
Maybe he'll use it as a lesson learned?

If the manager doesn't know that the coins were worth money, then who cares.
People today should understand what years of coins are silver and not. Like
everyone in my family knows. Even though they don't collect coins.

It is truly amazing what someone will do for there addictions. I worked graveyards at a grocery store in college and had one guy come in and spend a couple dollars in silver proof Kennedy halves for diapers at 4am. Silver was only $5 an ounce at the time and I scooped them up that one I can understand. You need diapers at 4am and no pawn shops are open you do what you gotta do. I think I could wait several hours for cigs and a pawn shop to open. I saw the occasional silver never much normally just a random silver Washington or Roosevelt.

You guys do realize that the manager does not own those half dollars right? They belong to 7-11 and they are no different than any other half dollar, or quarter or penny in the drawer. The manager didn't know what he "had" because he didn't "have" anything. If I routinely walk in and ask for change for a dollar am I supposed to buy him a gift card because he gave me 4 quarters?

Moral debate aside.

AWESOME finds guys! That is seriously the best collection of finds I've ever seen from a convenience store. Hope you guys find some more sweet stuff! I don't suppose there were any rarer dates? I guess ya'll would have mentioned them if there was.

IMHO you have no obligation to do anything for that manager. You got lucky. Wish I could too

I am done arguing with you. You can believe what you will. Your business. Just keep it to yourself and preach to someone else

That date range suggests these coins came out of circulation in one group in 1946, and stayed in one hoard until they went to the 7-11. If they were assembled any time after 1946, I would expect some 1947's in the group, by chance alone.
