So I have a roll of pennies. This is a 30 out of circulation roll. It has one penny from each year from 1909-1958. I know its rare but is there the possibility that there is a 1943 copper penny. I put a REALLY strong magnet along the roll and I did not fell an attraction at all. Did they omit it? Thanks

I am thinking you mean 50 out of circulation or possibly 49. Who put the roll together, and how long ago? If it was anytime in the last 40 years I would highly doubt a copper 1943.

They do exist but theyre so rare you dont need much more than your fingers to count their total population from each mint. Youre talking a 6 figure coin minimum. Its not impossible, but I really wouldnt get your hopes up

The chance would be very low. What I'm getting at is: You have a complete roll of Wheat cents from 1909 to 1959? And you ran a magnet to check for steel? You would need to open the roll to see what you got. Before you open it, did you happen to buy this roll on ebay as unsearched? If so, I'd return it ASAP.

i didnt realize there isn't a penny for each year. -_- I didnt have my hopes up and. I didnt get it off ebay. It has been in its original roll since 1958. My moms older friend received it and gave it to me.

Do you know if the coins in the roll have mint marks?

That sounds like a nice roll. We would need pictures of the front and back. But the easy thing to do is: take all 1909, 1914, and 1922 out. (They should have mint marks. 1909 S VDB, 1914 D, 1922 D Type two I think) Those are ones I know worth money. to ccf.

Those are the ones worth big money. Others that are worth less, are 1931 s, 1909-1915 s, 1909 vdb, and a few others.
