why cents acquires this green or brown color that makes it look like wood.could 1916-Lincoln-Wheat1916-Lincoln-Wheatthis diminishes its value?

i try to get a better pictures but I use a cellphone camera thats the better I can do for now

It's an improper alloy mix, giving it the wood-grain appearance. Often called "woodies"

The green stuff on the reverse is verdigris, aka copper corrosion.
