Just for the record, this one carries a pretty hefty premium, although it's available in Mint State.

Is there a site that gives you a ballpark value on the better Vams? I have looked at Past ebay sales, and a few Heritage auctions trying to get a feel for a range of value.I know they are only worth what someone will pay, but is there a better source out there?

Not really; there isn't a large enough record of sales over the years to establish strict pricing. One suggestion I make is to check out Logan McKechnie's site - http://vamsandmore.com/shop/home.php - to see what he's asking for individual varieties. He has about the largest single grouping for sale anywhere.

Another avenue of research requires you to join SSDC (Society of Silver Dollar Collectors). They've initiated a VAM Registry which is assembling a pretty good picture of VAM holdings, what's actually out there. Also, look into the VAMView Price Guide (available at Mr. McKechnie's site). This is a "labor of love" effort on the part of the creators, and is intended to be a reflection of what a dealer would ask as a retail value for a given VAM, based on actual sales. That's important - it's a retail guide.

Both of these, of course, assume that you're relatively serious about Morgan and Peace VAMs.
