I bought this coin from coast to coast coin and I'm not really the best grader. They labeled it Brilliant Gem Uncirculated. I noticed the other day that it doesn't have a double raised edge like some of my other Morgan dollars. Tell me what you think

I have heard nothing about the reputation of Coast to Coast Coins. However, looking at this one, my first impression is that it's not Uncirculated. I expect a far better strike from an 1882-S.

On the other hand, it could just be a weak strike. In that case, it certainly looks clean enough to be Gem. The rim details are not to worry about.

Or conversely, if it really were in uncirculated condition, would it really be $45?

That's about MS64 money for this coin.

It's a strong 64 if it's Mint State, AU55-58 otherwise. I have a hard time getting past the weakness of the ear and adjacent hair, and the eagle's breast. On the other hand, if it were wear, I'd expect less of the eagle's neck and the top edge of the wings.
