My Uncle passed away a couple of years ago and as we go through his prize possessions... We have found a folder with money from what seems to be from all over the world.
Could this be worth anything or is it more the less a keep sake ?
Nederland 2 1/2 ? Francs 100 ? Banqve 50 ? military payment certificate 5 cents series 481 Philippines ONE Peso series no. 66
Lots of stuff like this ?

I am sooo intrigued. Is there any way you could take some pictures front and back of the coins and notes? That way we can tell you exactly what you have and a possible value. Welcome to the Forum!

Do you trust them? Know them? or know someone that does?
I'd honestly stick around here first so we can help you figure out what you have so we can give you the info necessary to sell the items if you wanted to in the future.

Often, taking items to a local coin shop can be disappointing when they tell you the total that they'll offer you for them. I've seen dozens of disappointed people bring an armload of items in, with the dream of getting hundreds or thousands of dollars for them, only to be offered twenty or thirty bucks for the whole lot. Remember, they're trying to get a good deal because they are going to turn around and offer the notes/coins to their customers. Sometimes you can get a better price on them selling directly to the customer. You might have better luck on ebay, or going to a local coin show. However, this is up to you. It can be more trouble that it is worth to sell them on ebay, and if you just want to get rid of them the shop may be the better option.

First off...Don't clean the coins or iron the notes. That would only devalue the coins/notes for collectors. A lot of collectors have, in their collection, coins/notes that are interesting but worthless. They also usually have a few that are worth quite a bit more. That being said the value of the collection as a 'keep sake' could be worth more than the money you would get for selling it. The value of each coin/note is dependant upon a number of different factors. 1. Date: Some can be worth Twenty Cents and a different year worth twenty dollars. 2. Mint mark: Same year but a different mint mark can make a world of difference. 3. Condition: Coins that have not been worn are worth more. Note that are not wrinkled are worth more. 4. Material: Some coins are made of gold and silver and the metal value alone makes them valuable. 5. Serial Numbers: On notes some numbers attract a higher price.

You should post in the international curreny section of this site. I collect world coins / currency but don't have a book to help identify everything. The MPC (Military Payment Cert.) and other stuff is worth some money to some collectors. Not sure what a realistic figure would be, sorry. If you have coins also in the collection they could be worth more than the paper currency just in metal value. Many older coins were partly made of silver. edit: just a quick search on ebay shows some MPC notes going for $2 each to 40+ for some lots of notes.

If you try posting pics on the site straight from your computer, they can't be over 100 kb in size. This may be why you are getting an error message. If you use paint you can make the immage smaller and less file size. Ty
