Just curious. I have a silver 1951 Indian Head Liberty coin. I cannot find it in the collectors book. Has anyone seen these before? Thanks.

Need a picture. It sounds like some sort of token because nothing rings a bell as a real U.S. coin.

could be a Silver Round. But the date of 1951 is rather odd for that.

It won't be 1951, it will be 1851, it has an indian head on the obverse similar to the Indian Head cent, and a reverse design very similar to the type I gold dollar.

This fantasy piece is showing up more and more often. The first couple of time I heard about it, roughly 20 years ago, they were actually 1 oz silver rounds. Now they are base metal fakes coming out of China. If you check the weight they will usually be around 25 grams, and some of them a lightly magnetic.

It is an 1851 date. The front and back I would say are identical to the Indian Head cent with the exception of course being "1 dollar" written on it. It looks authentic. Any other thoughts. I will take a digital front and back and post it. Again thanks.

The mint never made a 1851 Indian Head dollar. You have a round metal fantasy piece.
