I'm not sure if somebody was already planning on doing this but I thought I would make a thread where you guys can show off some Christmas gifts given to you (or maybe ones bought for yourselves) that were coins or coin-related. I'm also not sure if it will be allowed in this forum since I'm not specifically asking for classic coins, but this is the one I visit most.

I had to exchange presents with my girlfriend earlier tonight so I'll start it off.
She got me a couple jewelers loupes as well as the 2014 Red Book which I've never even thought of getting before. I quickly realized it's a very nifty thing to have!
She also got me my first ancient coin because I was thinking about getting one a few months back. I love ancient Greece as well as mythology and, bless her little heart, she just got lucky enough to randomly pick a Greek coin from the BC's with the image of Apollo on one side. I don't know anything about it but it's very neat!

Glad you got some cool stuff!! Nobody buys me coins because they don't know what to get, so they give me money. I have a little over $300 dollars right now that I will use to purchase coins. Merry Christmas! !!

This post makes me remember that I never, ever get a coin related item for a gift. What makes me think this is odd is every year, for many, many years, I order about 12 to 15 Red Books and 10 to 12 either proof or Uncirculated sets from the Mint for presents. This has been a tradition for about 25 to 35 years. Not sure at my age. Yet now that this comes up, it occurs to me I've never received anything even closely related to coins. Not for birthdays or Christmas or anything. Starting to wonder if this is an omen.
Rest in Peace

I'm right there with you just carl. Only once did I get a coin related Christmas gift and it's really bullion. My mom gave me a one ounce silver in 1973.

There may have been more in years to follow if only Ron Popeil had marketed something.

What a Christmas coincidence!
I got a $300 visa card from my parents.

What do you guys like to go for when you have a good amount of cash to spend on coins, quality or quantity?
I think if I was planning on spending all $300 on coins I would just buy something really nice for $300.

I have not received a coin present since 1992 when I was given the first modern silver proof set. Most know my tastes are are specialized and advanced so they do not want to venture into coin gifts. I do have a $1,000 bonus burning a hole in my pocket.

I plan on making a trip to the good old LCS sometime in the coming days and I'm quite excited about what I'll leave with.

Santa left me 5 rolls of unsearched cents. found a wheat in each. It must of been santa because the old lady is out of town and they just mysteriously appeared in a place I have never kept cent rolls in that area and they weren't there a few days ago when I looked and I know I've opened every single cent roll I've gotten the last few months.
I guess he picked me out some decent rolls, 5 wheats in 5 rolls is pretty good even if they were 3 50's 1 40's and a 1937. I would of preferred 5 rolls of bu 1909 s vdb's but I was kind of a naughty boy this year.

I got a gift for myself in a key date 1880 Seated Liberty dime for my date set. Then this morning my wife gave me a membership to the ANA! I've been meaning to join for years, so I'm pretty excited

I got about $30 cash and $10 gift card to my LCS.
Christmas money goes to silver coins, half dollars or larger. With two kids in college and paying cash as we go, I don't buy anything bigger than a quarter (unless its a killer deal) during the year. It's my present to myself.
Probably time to fill that 1955 Franklin spot and maybe another hole!

I received a 1987 Proof Constitution Dollar from a family member.

I bought myself the Bust Half DVD recommended in another thread.
