Hi there,
anyone know about the above coin?mine looks and feels like gold?supposed to be silver,I know these where struck in Berlin,the next year 1893 they began minting them in Pretoria?
But this one looks and feels like my Kruger rand?can anyone shed any light on this for me please?

Is it possible for you to post a picture of both sides of the coin? It is possible that someone plated it.

There's nothing listed in Krause regarding off-metal strikes or gold patterns of these coins. It's most likely just been privately plated, for whatever reason.

Check the weight, if you can; it should weigh 11.31 grams; a solid gold coin the same size as a florin should be much heavier than that.

Boy ,you guys are great detectives,yes,it weighs 11.31 grams,so must be gold plated for some reason,perhapes to imitate a kruger.
