Brucec- thanks for asking about the fishing. It was great until the mayflies hatched. We fished near Rattlesnake on thursday and managed 6 before the storms chased us out....

I do not Usually collect Moderns but I like these coins. My are on the way according to the Mint. I signed up for the subscription service. The price seemed very reasonable as well for 4 nice proofs. I guess I like the history connection of the coins most of all. Mike

My husband (Gary Burke) gave me a set today, and I like the coins very much.

Got mine in the mail today! Should have bought a bunch more to sell but didn't think about it at the time. Too bad most of em would only bring a few dollars profit.

Hello Everyone,
I finally got mine today. I really LOVE The set. The coins were beyond what I expected them to be. The US Mint needs to perfect the holders so that the edge lettering can be easier to see.

Speaking of the edge: why do the edges of these coins have a two-toned look (that is, there are two distinct colors separated by an irregular border).
Do the proofs have the same thing?

I received my sets a couple weeks ago and to be honest, I am not quite happy with them. Some of the coins have stains on them, some of the holders are popped open. I think the quality control really is lacking this year. I ordered quite a few of them in hopes to send some in for grading but from the looks of it, neither would grade anything higher than a 68. Maybe I have real bad luck?

Sleaklight, you are still within the time limits to return the coins for refund or exchange. Need to move fast if you have had them for awhile. Good luck,

hmm, I am going to return all of them and have them exchange them all. I wrote down the problems, stained coins, cracked + scratched holders, cracked + opened holders. I think I got all the rejects lol. I normally would keep them but, yeah, this is definately not what I expect proof quality to be like. Hopefully I have better luck on the replacements.

Sleaklight,
Let me offer some advice, just in case it is needed, I returned a lot of 20th Anniversary coins to the mint and they never acknowledged that they received them. Thank God, I sent the package return receipt requested and insured. After a 5 month fight and the help of my congressman, I got my replacements. I had very detailed records on all of my calls to the Mint and my post office delivery verification and the proof was overwhelming in my case. So, if the advice is usable, please do like I did. Good Luck and hope you receive back nothing but "70's".
