What do you think of the presidential $1 set of coins just released by the mint? Washington, adams, jefferson, and madison packaged in a lens.
I thought at $14.95, it would be nice to have a couple sets. Just wondering what you thought of these.
Sorry if I missed this discussion earlier....

Mine were just shipped to me. Depending on how the first one looks, I may order some more. They may just be a pretty good X-mas present...

That's correct grace. The "one" I was referring to was one order of the four coin group. Sorry.

Got mine in the mail yesterday as well. They are nice. Kind of hard to see the edge, but you can make it out. I was hoping to see a smooth edge, but no such luck.

Oh yes saw an interesting article in Coin World that there are 88 senators now sponsoring a bill to take off the In God We Trust on the side of the presidents dollars and put it on the face or back of the coin. Hmmmmm that will be interesting if they do that said if it passes they will take it off ASAP.

How do you guys see the 1st Ladies prices going up or down for what they are going for on ebay right now. from 600's to 800's. Will these keep increasing in value? Thoughts!

IMO, the pres. dollars are a waste to pay more than face. Just another marketing ploy by the mint. I half wonder if the mint doesn't create the error coins on purpose. Just think of all the free publicity they are getting from the coins. As far as the Spouse coins go, if you have them, I would be on ebay selling them now. It is a fad that will quickly fade. Just think, if you get ready to sell it (years from now), demand stinks on the coin, so Coin dealers only give you Gold bullion value, Gold is trading around $650 oz. The coins are half an oz, so you have $325 bucks in gold and that's it. Some dealers may not even give you the gold spot price on them either when you sell. Just my thoughts..good luck

Question is are they worth buying in bulk to save for later. In 2004 the westward nickels sets cost 60 bucks each on ebay's. The 2006 or 2005 proof nickel sets cost 10 bucks each. Look at 1999 silver proof sets costing over 300 bucks , 1999 clads costing 55 dollars. They were all first year coin sets. I was thinking is it worth buying 50 to 100 of those golden dollar proof sets and putting them safe for later. They may jump in price like the 1999 silver, 1999 clad, or 2004 westward nickel proof sets. That would so cool selling them an few years later for 50 to 300 bucks each. Any ideas is it worth it ?
