A local auction house was having a small coin sale tonight so I decided to go check it out mostly for entertainment purposes. Was pleasantly surprised that prices were not going as high as usually are and was able to pick up a few items for what I feel was a decent price. What do you think? Did I get a good deal pay too much?

Thanks,
Joe2007

1834 Capped Bust Half Dime (Paid $12). Looks better in hand, my photos make it look cleaned.

1858 Flying Eagle cent (Paid $12.50).

1842 Large Cent (Paid $10). Think I may have messed up a little on this one.

Also purchased 500 wheat cents for $12.50. Mostly 1940's and 50's but it had a good amount of 1930's and a few 1910's including a 1916-S. .

Not bad coins at all. I have always had a soft spot for the Half Dimes, and the bust Half Dimes are especially nice. Would love to find an auction that had prices that low!

Nice finds!

You got a great deal on the Half Dime. Looking at completed ebay auctions you paid less than most people did for 1834 Half Dimes that were in worse condition.

You did very well. Even the Large Letter Flying Eagle was a good buy.
