If on a coin the die covered half the date with a huge drop. When I say a drop I mean it is a big drop and the only part that shows is the number 19 and the rest is a drop that covered the other numbers and this coin is definetly ms 66 or 67 uncirculated. Is it worth anything ? Thanks for your answers in advance. . My camara is no good sorry' but the back also is just missing the part - A -----CA and this is crazy!! *** titles are important ****** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

On the reverse side, America is just missing the whole MERI , meaning when it was struck the letters did not go on at all.

Stone....Love your enthusiasm! BUT, you could have added images to your first post Also, PLEASE be more specific in your post titles "Question" will not garner the kind of response worthy your inquiry. Maybe a mod will combiner your posts.

Can you try to post some clearer pics? This sounds interesting, but we need the better pics to determine exactly what is up with your coin.

Yes It's a Cud, From your description & the blurry pictures I'd say yes it's a Cud.My guess 25 to 40 dollars in an auction setting

Quote:cud An area of a coin struck by a die that has a complete break across part of its surface. A Cud may be either a Retained Cud, where the faulty piece of the die is still in place, or a full Cud, where the piece of the die has fallen away. Retained Cuds usually have dentil detail if on the edge, while full Cuds do not. from glossary. The reason there is no detail on the other side of the coin is because the metal went into the Cud and there was none or very little to fill the design elements on the reverse.

Thanks I will post better pics. When I saw it , my mouth dropped and I said this is rare for me to find- big droplet and totally missing letters on reverse it is unique looking I should say.

You may try backing away from the coin a little. The coin may be a little smaller in the picture, but it may be more in focus. You can then crop out the background and show just the coin

see if your camera has a MACRO setting. It may be represented by a Flower icon. Turn that on and closeups of coins will be sharper.
