That's only $3.50 over current melt value, shipped. I think its a good deal. You may find some gems EDIT - had to update my melt value tables, but still not bad

Thanks, Fuzzy!! Hopefully, that would be a bonus! And, yeah I thought "why not?" as well.

You did okay. ebay is a tough venue to find any silver near melt value and you were able to do that. The seller listed these with free shipping and then notes, "Items will be shipped in padded mailer for 3.00 US lower 48" in the description. As the winning bidder you are under no obligation to pay the additional $3.00 and I wouldn't pay it.

I got 100 pre 1965 dimes, ones was a 1945 Mercury and I got some nice hole fillers but it cost me $200. Nice age on your Mercury's and they look good. Good luck on nice finds.

You would have done 50X better finding them at face value.

Good point. That's a decent price. I usually sell for melt +5% or so in craigslist. If on ebay I try to get at least 10% premium and have buyer pay shipping

You did okay. With most international buyers willing to pay 10%-20% over spot its hard to get a good deal on ebay. That a why I don't buy Scrap Silver there and just go to my local dealer who sells them by weight for spot and I get the most bang for my buck. Although considering its ebay and that you got 4 merc's you did pretty good

I think you got a good deal. The cost for 50 junk dimes at my local coin shop would be a bit higher.

Thank you all for your responses!
BH- I agreed on $75 flat with the seller.
Gotboosted- I saw his Morgans and offered $100 on all...which would be an awesome price!
And yeah, it was barely over spot, so I can't really lose on this one....unless silver randomly plummets. Thanks!
As always, any other responses are appreciated, as well.

Very nice. I have yet to buy any silver in bulk, although I have a silver Roosevelt folder that's waiting to be filled.

I just got it in the mail today. So far, looks pretty decent, definitely worth the spot. I'll check them out tomorrow in depth!
