Thoughts on the grade of this nickel?

XF-45 or AU-50. Weaknesses on the reverse, notably between 6 and 8 o'clock.
Obverse shows all 13 stars nicely struck.
Is this for a type set or do you collect the entire series?
Very nice overall.

Yes, a type set of 19th and 20th century TPG American coins. This was purchased when I was a child living back in the states. May have it graded, might not (Submission seems like a hassle from here, less hassle to buy a already graded one). I have some time to build this out and more importantly support from the wife :)

Thanks!

A bit off topic: Submitting from Sweden isn't that much of a hassle, at least not for using NGC. A bit more expensive though. I shipped mine to their office in Munich, and let them handle all the export rules, insurance things and whatnot...

Wouldn't say that the coin is worth getting graded, so probably easier to buy an already graded one off of ebay

I had read about the Munich submission site awhile back ago... It's good to know should I ever decide to sell anything of worthy value, but I'm far too much of a coin hoarder. :)

How long did the whole submission process take for you?

epikur,
I agree that that the coin does not warrant TPG slabbing.
In the scheme of things it is a common date and not MS.
It would fit nicely into anyone's type set.
It DOES look very pretty. Better than mine.

XF-45, very nice example.

I concur with Matthewvincent, I don't think getting this coin graded is worth it based on the value of this coin

Looks AU to me. A little blurry to tell for sure. I'll go with 50

Thank you all for the help and responses. I feel that the scan flattens it a bit... in hand, she has a nice pop to her.
