Oh Wow! It looks like it could be a Doubled Die, or it got caught under another coin when struck. I'm not an expert and really don't know how to explain this one so I'll wait to see what others say, but it's sure an interesting coin.

Can you post better pics? Right now it's looking like somebody with a vise,a few coins,and some time, kind of error.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

My father owns a shoe store and years ago he would keep coins and this is one he got from the till

And if I stuck a coin in a vice I think there would be mor damage and where it says 25 cents the cents part does not seem to be there

Look at the coin and ask yourself questions.
Is this a cookie cutter effect?
Are the second set of beads above the 25 Cent mark on the quarter raised or incused?

etc. etc.

Ok so there is beads on the quarter
There right above where it says cent cant se tthem in pic but therea is about 4 or 5
