Not 100% in love with ANACS. They must be very busy with all the specials they are running (to get business ) That's about all the benefit of the doubt I'll concede. It's been 3+ days since I received 'delivery confirmation' from USPS for 2 coins I sent in. Nothing showing yet on "order status" for my account......supposed to take 24-48 hrs. I spoke to someone on the phone there last week, and frankly they didn't know what they were talking about. Half the time a machine answers the phone. I emailed them yesterday with no response yet. Their holders are ugly, and I don't care what anybody says, they don't command the premium that PCGS holders do. Yes, I know to 'buy the coin and not the holder,' but most people don't. That's why I can get some great deals buying coins in ANACS holders. I only sent these 2 coins in because of the special they are running. I do hope they stay in business so I can keep buying their coins cheap. I'm going with PCGS next time...I don't care how much it's costs. Like I said, just my rant. If they grade my coin VF instead of F, all will be forgiven...not. Thanks for listening, I feel much better

At this time every year, all 3 TPG's are choking on ASE's and other Mint issues for the new year. Too many of the "collector" issues are already in slabs - there's no business in that end any more. They have to pay the bills somehow.

I am starting to wonder also. I received confirmation from USPS they received my two coins last Friday and I haven't received confirmation from them. This was my first submission to them, so I also tried registering for an account online. Every time I have tried to register I receive an error message. On Monday I sent them an email about the registration issues and have not heard back from them.
Tomorrow will be 1 week and I haven't heard anything about the coins they received last Friday and nothing about trying to establish my account with them. Starting to get frustrated.

I just received an email literally 5 minutes after my post saying they received my coins, so that is good.
However, it says to check the status I should register for an account online. Problem is I have tried to register an account and keep receiving error messages.
At least I know they have my coins. Half of my problem is resolved

A little factoid about ANACS that you may or may not know. In December '07, they were bought out by Driving Force, LLC of Colorado. Driving Force, LLC is owned/controlled by Shop NBC. (aka Shop HQ). Needless to say, Shop NBC incurs little or no grading fees on the hundreds of thousands of coins they sell. ANACS also numbers their graded coins for the show, leading the uninformed buyer to believe that he is getting a numbered/limited edition coin. I would rather pay a little higher fee and stick with NGC or PCGS. Those are the only two REAL third-party grading services. Period.

You'll have to excuse me since this is the first time I sent anything in to a TPG to get graded and not hearing anything from them for a week was scary. I'm not sure if they (and other TPG's) are usually this slow in sending confirmations or responding to emails, but since I have nothing to base my experience on I have first time jitters. I also have a hard time understanding their non-response to email. I own a small-business and the longest we wait to return an email or phone call is 24 hours, and many times we respond within an hour. Finally, the fact that I have tried for 6 days to register for an account with them and I tried doing it on several different computers and trying different email addresses that I have and I haven't been successful doesn't engender great confidence.

yhbearcats.....you are right on target. I'm a first timer too. A couple of weeks ago I tried to register an account online and got the same error message you got. So I called the company and the guy gave me some excuse, but he was able to activate my account. So if it took you 6 days to get confirmation? Looks like I still have 'til probably Monday then. At least according to USPS I know they were delivered, so it's on them now. Like I said, I hope they stay in business so I can keep buying cheap coins at auction. Very poorly run business at the moment. I've had a business too and wouldn't even consider doing some of the stuff they are doing. No wonder PCGS and NGC are kicking their *** Edited by Staff | The bad word filter is in place for a reason. Bypassing the filter and making the intended word obvious anyway is completely unacceptable. ***.

I'd like to see some citation on that claim, TXOILMAN. I'm thinking James Taylor - the founder and owner of Driving Force LLC - might have a different opinion. It's quite possible a shopping channel is their "whale" customer - Taylor was in a similar situation with ICG - but your ownership claim needs proof.

The FUN show is also running this week and ANACS has several employees on-site at that show. I've exclusively used PCGS for TPG but ANACS and NGC do good work too. My submissions to PCGS have taken anywhere from 7 days to 7 weeks to have grades posted and there were times that it took a few days for PCGS to get my coins into their system after USPS showed "Delivered". It happens.

Gosh I'm sorry......didn't realize that that little 3 letter word, was a bad word. It's allowed in every mainstream media situation. Please don't think less of me.

The mail is running a few days behind even in fair weather areas in the States. I also agree with the FUN coin show and a few other going on in January. People are stretched kinda thin right now.

Coin Community is not "mainstream media." It's a numismatic community dedicated to the new collector and the young numismatist. We run this place under a strict G-rating as we have a number of very young participants under parental supervision. The rule of thumb is, "if a conservative parent would not want their child seeing this, it doesn't belong here." So far, people seen to be satisfied, but we're aware that this isn't for everyone.

Quote: Gosh I'm sorry......didn't realize that that little 3 letter word, was a bad word. That is indeed an interesting statement, because you tried to mask the word with dollar signs. That tells me you certainly knew it was not appropriate.
