I have accumulated over 100 coins from around the world. I usually ask people to give me their change from their world exploits that they'd otherwise do absolutely nothing with and I put it into my piddly collection. I put each coin into a 2X2 and place it onto an album page (that fits 20 2X2's) and do it in alphabetical order. The album pages are put into a three-ring binder. Not elegant but sufficient. The collection is quite haphazard.

Mine's much the same, except with several thousand coins, there are more than a few binders. The main collection is in alphabetical order. The 2x2 pages I buy in bulk from a photographic supplies store.
For many of my "date duplicates" like my hordes of US, British and Canadian coins, they wind up in cheap plastic coin album pages, in separate albums sorted by continent.

I store mine very similarly. I attempted to have em alphabetized but When you get a big lot of 500 coins or more added to it, it's kinda hard to keep em in order.

Same here,I put coins into 2X2 coinholders and wrote denomination, year, metall and issuing country and sometimes name of the queen/king/president/theme which is pictured in the coin. I had "old" world map -book where I got all the flags of the world and glued them to tiny paper pieces above country name. Those paper pieces starts each country. So then that hobby is a little more comprehensive I know one guy who takes copies from Krause World Coin -book's country sections and put those into album.

I ran out of space for albums a looong time ago. Now, each and every world coin that I feel is worth keeping goes into a mylar 2x2, and the general selection goes into the red storage boxes made for them. Special coins go into albums, and these are generally my Australian coins (the pennies and one cents have an album all to themselves.) My Japanese coins, my Oceania coins other than Australia, and my Canadian coins. Again, Canadian cents 1920- current have an album all their own.
Extra special items like silver or gold, or oversized coins go in my "treasure chest". A wooden box lined with red cloth, and readily available for me to drool over them more frequently than the boxed items.
It's a space saving system, but gosh it's a PAIN to put new items into it. ><

I have 320 coins and 80% in ecu size (38-39mm). I store all of them in blue case SAFE for coins 45mm or 63mm. I make a label (with excel)with name and references of the coin that I put behind the coin.

I use a combination of holders and Dansco coin stock albums w/slipcases. I use 2x2 holders and store them (alphabetically first, denomination second) in a 2x2 storage box. When I get enough for a type set I transfer them to a custom made album.
For example, I just purchased a Hungarian 5 Pengo from 1939 and it went into the box. I have an idea for a very unique theme type set that I'm keeping under wraps until it's complete to present at my local coin club meeting. So when I get about a 1/2 dozen more of the type coins I'll transfer them from storage to the custom album.

I took mine out of albums, because I got fed up with having to move all the coins to fit a new one in. I now store them in 2x2's and and store the 2x2's in shoe boxes, cut down so they are the right height. The 2x2's are stored in Alphabetical order and then by denomination and then year. I use Excel to keep track of what I have and the spreadsheet is in the same order as I store the coins, so I know exactly where to find any coin. All the coins are in the CCF gallery, so I don't have to take them out very often to look at them. Only problem is the safe is full! Steve

than how I collect my coins, For Italian (from 1861), Stato Pontificio and euro (all countries) collection I have several Plateaus w/ square holes where I put a plastic envelope w/ inside coin, if Silver, gold, or UNC rare coins I use an additional special plastic paper to protect coins. For all other countries I use 2x2 pages in few albums ordered by countries following KM catalogue, w/ few exceptions, Switzerland and some USA values. And I'm experiencing just a couple of problems, coins set from some countries that are no more releasing some coins for standard circulation, and space.

I like the 2x2's myself. I label the front with the denomination, year and country. I label the back with the grade, catalog number and the number coin it is in the collection. Then it goes into binders broken down by country. Lowest to highest denomination, oldest to newest. On the inside of both the front and back cover I place a copy of the countries mints, rulers, etc. I also have what I consider a decent software program to keep track of all the information I can possibly gather about a coin.
