The same thoughts, valoshin.
In addition - would it be the same size as real nickel coin (even thinner) for the same price - I would order it.
But, following the concept, that I'll not buy the coin, if I am not "100%" into it - will pass.

Anyone else agree this coin would have been much cooler if they had kept it "5-Cents" ? -.-

I like the way you think Lostwords. My rep is going to be upset.

Quote: Though a little pricey. A classic design for Canadian coinage, but not my cup of tea. IMO, a price of $99.95 would have been more fair for this 1/25 ounce gold coin.

classic tribute design coins like the nickel should be done large and massive as like the 2012 penny, the 50 cents is stupid on this coin.

Quote: ...the 50 cents is stupid on this coin. I agree. I realize that it was likely done to attract collectors of other 50-cent pieces, but a denomination of "50 cents" on a modern gold coin (even one as small as a 1/25 ounce coin) is silly and meaningless.

I went ahead and ordered this coin because I enjoy the classic beaver design and I don't think it has been on a gold coin before (correct me if I'm wrong). I also like that the mintage is only 7,500 instead of 10,000 so that was a big selling point for me.

I like the coin as well. I placed my order the day it was announced. I am hoping that the Mint will make a larger version made out of silver. Imagine a 1/2oz silver, with a pink beaver (no pun intended) sorta like what they did with the penny.

Said it before but will repeat. The coin should have been 5 cent and the price is too high. The reduced mintage helps but some of these 1/25oz coins have sold less than 7500 despite 10k mintages. I'll likely buy it at a discount or on sale somewhere though because the coin IMO looks pretty good. Actual pic here http://www.ebay.com/itm/2014-Canada...em5660548a19

I like the coin but I've sworn a vow to never buy anything from the RCM but the 20 for 20's and circulation packs.

I really like this design as well. The same for the 2010 1/25 oz gold bluenose (10ยข), I really like these classic designs but are too pricey for me.
I'm waiting for discounts on these ones to buy, as 130$ is too much for what it is IMO. But... I'm looking for the bluenose one for a while now and they aren't not discounting very much.

I agree, having the coin with 5 cent would have been cool.
