I'm the only one that thinks Peace dollars are hard to grade? They are already weakly struck, and never had pretty fields to begin with.

Peace dollars are for me, and I've looked at a bazillion of them. The key to accurate Peace grading is to concentrate first on determining the original strike quality. This is a separate skill entirely from grading, but the grade flows easily from it once you've got it down pat.

I have trouble grading them too. The great thing about this community is there are people who are willing to help with grading, info and answering questions.

One of my weaknesses with Peace dollars is how to tell strike weakness from wear.

Same here for me as Meadow said, it's hard to tell a not so good strike from wear.

Peace dollars strain my already tenuous grading skills. This 1921 (a different animal all together in the world of Peace dollars) has been for me a great tool to use for grade vs. wear.

I'm a bit of a novice (despite collecting for over 50 years) but I'd say the rim tells a lot about that one, even more than the fields.

Yep, Peace dollars are among the group that are tough to grade.
Along with Buffalo nickels.
And incised Indian Head gold.
Even Washington quarters don't give you a lot of design to work with.
