Very nice. Puts my shoddy bent old tihng to shame.

Is that a flipover? It looks heavily rotated, but the double strike is from the same sides of the die.

You may be right, Ben.

It was marked and sold as a flipover, but I'm just not sure.


Any Commonwealth experts out there?

Hmmm, I am seeing evidence of a third strike. In the first picture (wreath side) there are two overlapping shields at approx. 11 O'clock-5 O'clock rotation, and a third at 3-9 rotation. Just above the third shield at 3 o'clock you can see a period and the lower half of the 1 digit, so it is a flip over strike. Nice find

And in the second pic, the upside down second shield with the St George's cross is not a rotated image, but the centrally placed shield from the other side of the coin!
