So, a number of you may know my name refers to having been a firefighter. After being retired due to a knee injury, I got into retail management. I took a position last August with a fuel company for management.
One of the fringe benefits is running a register in a gas station. AND preparing the deposit. I handle thousands of dollars in coin and currency every day. It has been awesome! I will go in order of denomination.
Pennies. Numerous (but not nearly as many as when I was a cashier for 7-11 in the mid eighties)
LWC with the oldest so far being 1919. And a good number of Canadian pennies.
Nickels. A number of 40s and 50s Jeffs, but no wars. And this...

That is exactly how I found it. I opened the register and there it lay. Its a 1936.
Dimes. A 1956 Roosey and this...

I almost missed it because of all the gunk.
Quarters. Three silver Washingtons and a proof 1998.
No halves yet.
Currency. Numerous low run star notes including this one...

One of the new hundreds star note. And this very ratty, but awesomely low SN 20. Lowest SN of any bill I have found yet...

And todays currency find...

I have to say, I am rather enjoying this job.
