I was disappointed when I looked at the shots I just took of this coin. It looks a lot better in hand. Ouch!

This is typical of digital coin imaging, especially lustrous silver - one has to learn a whole new set of grading standards which "seem" more liberal than before. I'm seeing a decent MS63 VAM-3 here.

I've seen this too - I buy coins that look beautiful in the store, even under magnification. Snap a digital photo and it looks like the coin's been in a knife fight.

I need to go buy the Camera that Great Southern Coins uses!

I'll say 63 for this one

Rest in Peace

Any old camera will do; you just need one of these for lighting:

MS62 to MS63 sounds about right on this coin, the reverse is much better as usual on these coins. since the reverse is so nice it may pull the obverse MS62 up to a total grade of MS63, the luster is quite nice, and the coin doe not appear to have been messed with or dipped.

I appreciate all the feedback. I wish I could capture the way the coin looks in hand. All of the marks in the left field and face are barely visible. The large mark in the right field looks more like like a smudge. It doesn't matter, I'll never send it to a TPG anyway.
Again, thanks for the feedback everyone.
