Found these on sale @ JoAnn Fabric & Crafts this weekend, regularly $50, half off so $25.

  • They throw A LOT MORE LIGHT than a Jansjo

  • It is much whiter

  • The head is bigger (2.5" vs. 1.25") but not outlandishly so

  • Not as tight a focus

Certainly an alternative for those without easy access to Ikea.

Methodology: Set custom white balance from 18% grey card. Shoot color card and random array of junk coins with light(s) at 9 o'clock.

The coins are lightly cropped and both images are resized to 800x whatever, then quality reduced to fit in 100K

Enjoy

I almost like the coin group in option "B" better.
They seem to have more contrast, look more natural.

Of course I can see the fabric they sit on better in option "A"
