I only buy 'real' coins, not souvenir trinkets at highly inflated prices which is what the PM sells.

Sorry to any PM customers, just my humble opinion.

I too would rather spend my money on old coins with "real history" rather than modern NCLT.

But if I had to choose between the two, I'd pick the RAM. The two mints have distinctly different artistic styles, and I simply prefer the look of RAM products.

I'd pick neither

I would support any mint that puts collectors first rather than profit but that will never happen

As for a mint that puts collectors first, maybe what was started in Canada will catch on. The Royal Canadian Mint sells $20 and $100 coins for face value. These are silver commemoratives. And small quantities of quarters and other coins. The problem is they do not sell these specials worldwide. Now, The Royal Mint in the U. K. started selling 20 pound coins for 20 pounds. Perhaps an Australian mint can see the value of helping collectors get a real interest. Perhaps they just did not think of it yet.

Thanks for that info Henry, wasn't aware of that

That does give me hope that perhaps it will catch on with Perth Mint & RAM...but I must ask - what percentage of precious metal is in those coins

If it does I'll certainly be back on board rather than buying from ebay

I would be even happy if they release coins only without packaging with a markup....that's a start

But paying $80+ for 1 oz coin is not my cup of tea - more than happy to wait a year or 2 and pcik up for $50 or less

Let's not forget, the majority of collectors are not made of money
